Sir John Stanley (1846-1931), was Kate Stanley’s brother. He was educated at the Royal School Armagh, studied classics at Trinity College Dublin and returned to the Royal School as Assistant Master. Probably due to his father’s fading health he initially helped out in his solicitor’s practice in Armagh, before qualifying as a barrister.
He later became a Judge in India and served there for some time before retiring to London. John Stanley from Armagh to Allahabad appeared in the 2016 edition of History Armagh p24-27 and can be viewed at History Armagh 2016
