Reginald Ernest Maffett and the Royal School Armagh 1884
Reginald Ernest Maffett, born at Finglas 15th October 1869, brother of Henry Telford Maffett.
At school in 1884; TCD 1887;
2nd Lieut Duke of Wellington's Regt 21st January 1893; Capt, 16th August 1900; Major 24th February 1911; Lieut Colonel 3rd February 1916;
Served in the Boer War 1900-02, battles of Paardeberg and Driefontein (Queen's Medal, four clasps, Kings Medal, two clasps).
Served in the Great War in command of the 1st Battalion, Duke of Wellington's Regt, 1914-18.
