The Funeral of Henry Robinson Stanley 1917
FUNERAL OF MR. HENRY R. STANLEY, WARRENPOINT
The funeral of the late Mr. H. R. Stanley took place yesterday from the Stanley Restaurant to Clonallon Cemetery, amid many manifestations of regret. The chief mourners were two of his sons, Messrs. Henry R. and Robert. The eldest son, Sergeant Charles W. Stanley, R.A.M.C., is at the front, having returned to France recently after a short furlough. On the route through Dock Square, The Square, Church Street, and Great George's Street business was suspended, and houses were closed during the passage of the funeral cortege. The Rev. E. S. Medcalf, M.A., Vicar of Warrenpoint conducted the service in the parish church, and also officiated at the graveside. Mr George Toombs had charge of the funeral arrangements.
